Oliver's interest in photography first flourished at school, and thereafter at university, where he won numerous prizes and worked on in-house publications as a photographer and editor.

A year's travel in China and subsequent trips around the globe, most recently in the Middle East and Africa, gave him the chance to develop his skills as a travel photographer and photo-jounalist. This year he has further trips and commissions planned in Algeria and Zimbabwe. He also works extensively as a theatre and concert photographer, and has done production stills on several film sets.

Oliver has done freelance work for the Sunday Times, and has recently been published in The Telegraph, The Times, The Guardian and The Stage. Recent clients include The ENO, Tamasha Theatre, Seabright Productions, HemiHelp, Soundaround and Eton College.
